Rossendale rabbit killer flouted order

A MAN who killed his ex-partner’s two pet rabbits after she dumped him flouted the community order he was given, a court heard.

The hearing had earlier been told how Whitbread went to his former girlfriend’s home and strangled her two rabbits while she had an afternoon nap.

Whitbread, whose actions were seen by a child at the house next door, later told police one of the animals had still been twitching so he ‘finished it off' by hitting it over the head with a half-brick.
