I'm not a religious person. In fact I believe that religion is the biggest cause of evil on the planet, but I'll try to keep this post light hearted
I'm also not a big fan of public displays of singing. At least not by amateurs. I love a good live band down the pub, but when wannabees start blurting stuff out down the local shopping arcade or some such, I just find it cringeworthy
Mix the two together and you've got a vomitfest I would want no part of
In the town centre, it's annoying, but easy enough to walk away and avoid. On a plane it's a whole different ballgame
Christian sing-along on easyJet flight divides opinion
A video of Evangelical Christians singing loudly on an easyJet flight has gone viral, with strong opinions on whether it was charming or offensive.
The guy sitting next to the pop-up-preacher doesn't look like his opinion is divided
Self-styled pastor Jack Jensz Jr, who is behind the organisation Kingdom Realm Ministries, posted the video of himself and a group singing the worship song “How Great is our God” along to a guitar, with some of the group standing in the aisle.“Worshipping our King Jesus 30,000 feet in the air!” wrote Mr Jensz alongside the video, which pans over the passengers singing in harmony and shows the view from the window at cruising altitude. On TikTok, his caption was, “We are taking this flight over for Jesus!”
I don't like flying at the best of times, and sometimes when you're using a budget carrier like Easyjet, you do get the odd pillock who likes the sound of their own voice, thinks their a comedian or simply has no respect for other people on the flight. It usually passes
But this? Singing to a sky fairy and playing the guitar at a volume everybody on the plane can hear if they like it or not. You can't just walk away from that while you're trapped on a plane with these idiots
I'm not usually one for complaining, I prefer to wait out annoying situations until they pass, but I'm pretty sure in this siuation, already stressed out through having to fly, then this God bothering Jessie gets going, I would likely be loosing my cool, Worf style:
“Y’all about to meet him if you keep singing,” reads the top most liked comment on TikTok.
I wonder if 'Jesus Saves' those who have just been turfed out of an Airbus A320 at 30,000 feet?
