This tactic is something I'm familliar with, and it's the worst setup for a compo claim ever, if that's what he wants
Yorkshire dad hits out at McDonald's after he's left waiting behind mountain of delivery orders
A mountain
A Dewsbury dad has hit out at McDonald's after being left waiting at the counter behind a mountain of delivery orders.Imran Patel, 46, had visited the Shaw Cross restaurant, near Dewsbury, on Monday and was left frustrated by his time watching food go out to delivery drivers, but not to him.
They were busy. When a venue is busy, it takes longer to serve people, and delivery orders still count as serving people
I've worked in a restaurant in the past and there are always some people who cannot grasp that when the place is busy, it may take a bit longer to get their food
Mr Patel said it felt like he'd been waiting for over 15 minutes
I suppose 15 minutes is a little long for a fast food place, but notice how he says it only 'felt like' 15 minutes?
I used to get customers coming up to me complainin they had waited over an hour. I only had to reprint their order and check the time stamp, to discover it had only been 20 minutes. I always did this while they were standing there. It was great fun
but a subsequent review of CCTV at the restaurant found he'd actually waited eight
Irate customers have no concept of time
Mr Patel said: "I'd only gone in there for two McFlurrys and a milkshake, with it just being drinks it should only take five minutes for them to get it ready. I wouldn't have minded but it was completely empty in there too.
You were still in a queue, and it clearly wasn't empty, if you were stood by 'a mountain' of delivery orders. Just because there were not many customers in the building, doesn't mean they were 'empty'.
And you don't mind waiting five minutes, but eight, you go to the papers for?
"You look over to the area where they're preparing the food for the delivery drivers and everyone is rushing around getting things out as quickly as possible. I was just left standing at the counter wondering what was going on."
You just answered your own question. They were rushing round getting things ready as quickly as possible
Mr Patel also raised concerns about the food hygiene processes in place at the restaurant after he says a cleaner was seen clearing bin bags and then entering the food preparation area to take out an order to a waiting car
I call bullshit on that one. An irate customer will always come up with a second line of attack if the first one falls flat
The food is cold
The beer's off
There's a rat in the toilets
I don't like the colour scheme
You're ugly
So to sum up, man waits eight minutes in McDonalds. Makes you wonder what goes through the minds of journalists when they write this hog wash
