Comedy & Tragedy

It's a tragedy that Governments waste so much taxpayers money on "the arts".
It's a comedy when protestors do this:

Protests delay Rome film festival launch

Actresses Keira Knightley and Eva Mendes sidestepped the red carpet at the Rome Film Festival opening after protesters picketed the event.

As actors, directors and screenwriters demonstrated against the Italian government's cuts to arts funding, the stars used a side entrance to enter Rome's Auditorium Parco Della Musica.
The showing of their latest movie, Last Night*, began almost two hours late
What do these protesters want. I don't think even they know anymore. All they can see is their piece of the free pie being reduced and they're stamping their feet.

The worlds economy is going tits up, yet actors expect public money, of which there is none left, to be given to them to indulge in their hobbies.

Because that's all it is. If people won't pay for your art then its just a hobby, not a career.

I have a hobby. Blogging.

GIVE ME SOME MONEY FOR MY BLOG OR I'M GOING ON STRIKE!     I MEAN IT!     WELL? ANYbody?     hello.....     hello.....     mummy

*I was going to include a little peice about the film "Last Night",  that was disrupted by the protests. Having looked at it though, it sounds like a right shitefest so I won't bother.
