Todays Andy Capp (Original on my sidebar)

 

I'm not posting todays cartoon because I'm a big fan of Andy Capp (although any excuse), but because I'm attempting to point out an inherent dimness in modern man

From the comments under the cartoon

 

While still pretty good, I would argue that the current incumbent is not better than Smythe. Maybe it's because it was a different time, but the original cartoons seemed to better portray the council house man with no job, in a more colourful manner than todays more watered down versions (And the originals were black and white). And Capp always had a fag in his gob, which is frowned upon today

But back to the comment, Smythe is not billed as the strips artist, but it's creator

 

 

And as also pointed out in the comments, the current artists are credited

Ok, so this is only an Andy Capp cartoon, so not big in the grand scheme of things, but I still think it's important that reading and understanding always comes before commenting

 

Although this is what I've come to expect from people who use terms like 'IMO', rather than just using the words 

Anyway...
