No shit?

Prunes are not a laxative, EU rules
The EU has ruled that prunes do not have a laxative effect and producers cannot say that they do.
It comes after the organisation was mocked last month for a ruling that led to a ban on claims that drinking water can prevent dehydration.
Do the EU think they are God now? Do they think they can say any old rubbish they want, and so shall it come to pass?

Prunes make you shit and water re-hydrates you.

Any fool can see...

Surely the best way to test this would be to fed the European Food Safety Authority members on a prune-based diet for a week or so.

Mind you, will the ruling really have much effect? I mean, it's not exactly up there with hydration as a catchy selling-point for today, is it?

Perhaps a prize for the best relevant advertising slogan would be in order.

Macheath - I don't know, prunes are supposed to be good for constipation.

What would the prize be? A years supply of prunes? I've been trying to think of a good one but I can't :-)

I suppose one could argue that most EU bigwigs have their heads jammed so far up their fundamental orifices that even a diet of prunes couldn't help.

As far as slogans go, you can rest on your laurels, Bucko - the post title is priceless!

They don't need prunes. There's already enough shit in the EU.
