Similar proportions for the poll The Daily Telegraph (the upside down one, not the British one) put up after the Donald Brooke case, but better worded IMO. I know I'm being pedantic but "whatever means they wish" is too open. There should of course be no restriction on any means that probably won't harm anyone/thing else apart from intruders, but "whatever means they wish" doesn't mention that. The DT Down Under just asked "Should homeowners be entitled to defend their homes from intruders" and although that doesn't really cover collateral damage either it does at least suggest that the only intended targets are intruders. Incidentally, that one got nearly 11,000 votes for and only 130 against, or near enough 99% support.
