Thanks for all the fish.

So long folks, that's it for the Moose.

I just can't find the time to keep this blog going any longer.

To be honest, when I started it, I never thought anything would come of it. I've been reading the decent blogs for a long time before starting my own and I didn't really think I could get in with such calibre. You folks have made that possible for me and I thank you.

One year down the line and it's been emotional.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed with comments, insight, feeling and given me a a general sense of, I'm not alone in the universe.

I'll miss you folks.

The blog will stay up and I'll still be around to comment on others.

Maybe when the summer comes....

Who knows?

Sorry to hear that Bucko.
I have a feeling that you'll be back, something is bound to boil the piss again sooner or later ;-)

I know that feeling too mate.
You're always welcome to spit a few feathers at my place. But, I think you'll be back and I look forward to it.

"I just can't find the time to keep this blog going any longer."

Real life is always the thing that comes first, and that's how it should be.

You'll be missed, but I hope to see you back soon.

Been there.

Understand completely.

Go. Rest. Come back.

Be well,

As General Custer once said to Sitting Bull when he was head of Indian Affairs in Washington "You should endeavour to persevere."

I wish you well and trust you will feel differently after a well earned sabbatical.

Max - Thanks. It's not for a lack of boiled piss, just a lack of time to put it all in print :-)

Mud in the Blood - Cheers mate, I'll pop round from time to time.

Julia - Yep. Real life. It's crazy at the moment. It's all good fun but I'm looking forward to things calming down a bit.

Captain - Cheers. Be well yourself. I'll be keeping an eye on your fight with HMRC and the establishment.

Francis - Thanks. I'm sure I will feel differently after a while when things are a bit quieter at Moose Meadows.
After all, this blogging lark gets in the blood, it's just a matter of proritising time.

Bugger - I was just listening to/watching your Deacon Blue videos, came here and read this...

"I'm sure I will feel differently after a while when things are a bit quieter at Moose Meadows."

I'm sure (and hope) you will. If not, it's been a blast, and I would like to thank you for your efforts.

Regards, MD.

Fare ye well old chap, however I feel sure that something will happen fairly that will bring you back to the keyboard.

The trick is don't post every day just wait for the really 'infuckingcredible' to happen and it will.

With that said time is all we really have that is worth anything and you owe it yourself to spend it exactly as you see fit.

Cheerio

Microdave - Enjoy the Deacon Blue. Your comments have been a pleasure, thanks. I'm sure I'll be back as the Moose at some point, just not for a while.

William - True words my friend. The keyboard will be dusted off sooner or later. For now, fair thee well yourself.

All the best ones seem to be going ... sigh.

Family first though.. understand completely. Thanks for all those laugh-out-loud posts and thought provoking ones too.

Hurry up and get your kitchen sorted Bucko!

I hope you will at least carry on commenting on LT's site, someone needs to keep the cretins in check ;-)
All the best

Caratacus - Thanks very much. It's been a pleasure. Bye for now.

Norman - The kitchen is a disaster wrapped up in a catastrophe! You can cover a multitude of sins with a bit of chipboard though ;-)

As for LT, it's like flogging a dead horse commenting on there. I'll continue to give 'em some pain though, as necessary.

Have a break to recharge the old batteries, Bucko, and best of luck - I hope to see you back here again before too long.

A sabbatical will do you good. Well it worked for me! (Don't blog, the sabbatical was from another area of my life). I only recently discovered your blog and hope you find time later.

Auf Wiedersehen!

I understand where you're coming from, Moose. I used to be a heavy duty blogger back in 2003/4 and it took over my life. These days Counting Cats gives me an outlet for my rants and I pace myself, only posting occasionally.

Perhaps this would be an effective means for you? To blog when you have the time? It would be a shame to lose your talent permanently.

I will wear an extra black stripe in mourning.

I do hope you come back sometime but in the meantime it's been a pleasure.

Take a rest, then come back when you feel like it/get angry enough - I enjoy reading your stuff Moose

Bucko said...

Barking - Thanks, hope to be back soon.

Michael - Hope to see you back then if I return. Thanks.

Macheath - Cheers Au revoir (I think)

Lynne - Maybe. It's something to think about. The blog is staying up so I can still post if I want to. And thanks for the praise :-)

Wasp - I'll return that sentiment, it sure has. Cheers.

Beware of Geeks - Thanks. Hope to be back, suitably angry one day.

There are so many really good blogs out there it's impossible to read them all, especially when time is short, however yours is/was one I read on a regular basis. You've done a great job and it's a pity to see you go. As commented previously blogging gets in the blood and once you're hooked you're hooked. Enjoy the sabbatical.

I also wanted to say thanks for all the offers of help and the help etc you've given me, much appreciated mate.

Don't be a stranger

Echoing so many others, this. We've all known real life to intrude on blogging and suddenly remind you that actually your blogging can be intruding on your real life. The temptation is always there to make another post when there are things to be done in meatspace. Do what you feel you need to, return when or if you feel able to, and if an absence is likely to be temporary make good use of short posts about light blogging.

Oh, and if you want my honest advice about kitchen fitting, unless your DIY skills are miles better than mine it can be more cost efficient to do some more of what you're good at to rack up the overtime to pay a kitchen fitter. :-)

Don't be a strangler (stranger had already been taken).

Bucko said...

Olly - Thanks very much. I hope to get an invite to the "Olly becomes Mayor of London" party.
Keep saying no? It's the first word that pops out of my mouth (I sould quit saying it to Mrs Bucko though)

Man with Chins - Thanks. Hopefully I'll be back sometime.

AE - Thans mate, it's been a pleasure. I've tried to make use of the "light blogging" but it needs a lot more this time.

Modesty aside, my DIY skills aren't that bad, if a little unconventional. I predict success!
