Andrew Ridgeley
Wham! were a massive band in the early 1980's. George Michael, Andrew Ridgeley and backing singers Pepsi and Shirley, formed in 1982 and had huge worldwide success until their split in 1986.
Pepsi and Shirley went on to have a short lived solo career until they gave it up as a bad job in 1991. They had a string of flops and their last album didn't even chart in the UK.
George Michael went from strength to strength with his selection of music for the masses combined with drugs, alcohol and gay debauchery.
But what became of Andrew Ridgeley?
After the band split, he moved to Monaco to have a go at Formula three racing. Fair play to him, unfortunately he met with little success, so in true cliché style, he moved to LA to become an actor. That was about as productive as the motor racing. He eventually moved back to Britain for good in 1990 where he became -
- a surfer!
He and his brother both caught a waterbourne illness from raw sewage, while surfing off the coast of Britain.
On his recovery he went on to become a prominent environmentalist for the cause of water quality of surfing beaches, working with UK charity, "Surfers Against Sewage", or SAS (LOL).
He now lives in Cornwall on a restored fifteenth century farm with his wife, Karen Woodward from Bananarama. Fair play again.
