The law is an ass

New Labour created over 3,000 laws during their thirteen year reign.

That's on top of the many thousands of laws that made up Britain's, explosion in a spaghetti factory of a legal system.

In fact, there are so many laws that if you tried to read them all, at your fastest possible reading speed, you wouldn't complete the task in your lifetime.

And I ignore each and every one of them. The whole lot. Not interested, don't need them.

You see, I have a law of my own, that I live by every day:

"Don't interfere with other people's lives by your own action or lack of action"
It covers every possible contingency.

As long as I don't forget my one law, I have no need of any others.

If people were " Directly accountable to all those affected by the consequences of the actions or inactions of you or your organisation " then the world would be a better place. Sigh ....!!

How about if you tried to break them all? How far would you get before they caught you? And how many second chances and community penalties would you get before they threw your behind in jail?

Might be fun to try... ;)

Actually, that is a variaton on the English common law principle we were discussing the other day. Or, the old Devil worship law - do as you will but harm none. It's the golden rule, of course.

Julia - You go first and let me know what happens :-)

Longrider - I've never heard the "devil worship law" before but it's a good principal.

I wonder how many laws each and every one of us technically falls foul of every day?
