It's normally the only giveaway as to whether a place has been smoked in, once a bit of fresh air has circulated. It's why I always made a rule of washing the ashtrays after a session when I had the bar.

The article is pure bollocks. Like you, I've never burned the upholstery in a car, or anywhere else, for that matter. And tobacco smoke is in itself anti-bacterial, so the special wipes won't be needed.

And as for cleaning costing £150, well, what can I say? I suppose if you hired a bevy of semi-nude nubiles to do the job it could cost you that much.

Most of my cars have been sub 2K as well, but one time when I did sell a nearly new (2 years old) car, I sold it to a non-smoker, and the issue of whether the car had been smoked in or not didn't enter the discussion. nisakimanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04563041282703559939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-7706336900862735572017-11-14T08:59:33.431+00:002017-11-14T08:59:33.431+00:00Yes. Cleaning the seats, dash, headliner and carpets did no good, still stinky. In a moment of blinding inspiration I washed out the ashtray: job done. I therefore posit that It's ASH that stinks.
