Do they influence in the old school sense of the word, like when we had 'What Hi Fi' magazine, or 'Kitchens Weekly'?

Or are they all like the ones I've seen in the news and then blogged about - 'I'm fat and entitled, and you could be too'

I don't mind being 'influenced' into making a better choice by something or someone that knows a great deal more about the subject than myself. There are loads of DIY and car mechanicing videos I watch on Youtube, but somehow I don't see stuff like that coming out of Tik Tok or Instagram

I suppose most music doesn't translate so well into French. The entire country has never come out with a noteable record, apart from maybe that Vanessa Le Taxi woman. There is a lot of guff in music though, that you wouldn't say in a normal conversation

Buckohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03169970711606515445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-11052311533203576632023-03-17T14:53:22.224+00:002023-03-17T14:53:22.224+00:00As metaphors go, this is a good one - sadly the pe...As metaphors go, this is a good one - sadly the people who ask ‘why?’ are few and far between (and getting rarer, if my chalkface experience is anything to go by, though I’ve always done my best to remedy the situation).

In a similar vein, I’ve been wondering about people who follow self-styled influencers on social media; surely this is tantamount to admitting that you are ready or willing to be influenced by someone else instead of thinking for yourself?

Incidentally, for a really weird take on the meaningless use of ‘yeah’ in a musical context, the French coined the term ’yé-yé’ to describe 1960s pop because of the repeated use of the word (it means even less to a French-speaking audience, but I suppose it was a distinct improvement on ‘oui-oui’).

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yé-yé
Macheathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04451439759398780345noreply@blogger.com
