They believed that amok was caused by the hantu belian,[6] which was an evil tiger spirit that entered one’s body and caused the heinous act. As a result of the belief, those in Malaysian culture tolerated amok and dealt with the after effects with no ill will towards the assailant.[7]"

Ha! Stupid Malays blaming it on an evil tiger spirit when we all know it's from watching Corrie.Kevin Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-14572922697006826632012-04-03T12:11:50.882+01:002012-04-03T12:11:50.882+01:00Shakespeare wrote a nasty play, Titus Andronicus. ...Shakespeare wrote a nasty play, Titus Andronicus. Looks like the blame is going to land squarely on the telly though, closely followed by the film, Saw.

The Daily Mail are already calling him the Coronation St Killer. The quote from ITV in your post is also mentioned in the DM today - "TV companies were 'forced to defend' pre watershed storylines".

We've gone from Chuckie 3, a video nasty in the true sense of the word, to a crappy soap opera being blamed for murders.

It won't be long before Peppa Pig... It took away 2 hours of my life that I'm never going to get back and I never bothered with any of the sequels. I don't mind violence in context but I can't be doing with gore just for the sake of it.

If I had children I wouldn't let them watch such a film. I would never call for them to be banned though, and blaming them for something like this is very simplistic and misses many deeper points.Buckohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03169970711606515445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-28167588140622630072012-04-02T20:58:37.055+01:002012-04-02T20:58:37.055+01:00Welcome back!
