Thought it was about time to have another go
Buckohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03169970711606515445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-18372990371836737342017-10-01T16:04:58.569+01:002017-10-01T16:04:58.569+01:00When did you start blogging again? There don't seem to be any dates on these posts, so I can't be sure.

"Fix it!"

Couldn't agree more - but you'll (probably) remember my ramblings about old Fiat Panda's and suchlike! I've just looked at the (very faded) label on our Creda tumble dryer - it was bought new in Oct 1978. To the best of my recollection it still has the original drive belt, but I did have to replaced the bearings in the motor some 15 years ago - I had to burn the mounting bolts out with the welding torch! Oh, and a pin fell out of the reversing mechanism, which was fixed with a bit of brazing rod...

"I have no idea what an inverter is"

It converts DC (direct current) into AC (alternating current) - I'm guessing your laptop variant drives the screen backlight. But they come in all shapes and sizes - from ones rated at less than 100 watts which plug in a car cigarette lighter socket, to grid scale units which are now being used for long distance HVDC power transmission.

MDmicrodavenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-69488097482148109562017-09-29T06:58:29.488+01:002017-09-29T06:58:29.488+01:00Hi Emily. The flavour and alcohol content is fine, but it's either very flat or so fizzy I can't get the bottle top off without loosing it all.
It isn't currently a substitute for shop bought beer, but time will tell

When I was in Corfu, all the locals are into brewing their own wine and it was very good too

Buckohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03169970711606515445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-73257118554702829702017-09-28T23:51:43.928+01:002017-09-28T23:51:43.928+01:00Thanks, this post is an inspiration. I buy "pipe" tobacco online and roll my own but have dreamed of someday growing my own.Emilynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-10864527802014763332017-09-28T18:58:27.605+01:002017-09-28T18:58:27.605+01:00Good on ya. I bought and dismantled a second, sold the engine for 2/3 of what I paid for it and got myself everything else for £125 - a veritable goldmine of bits. Our tumble dryer died: well, it's about £150 for a new one. Not round our house it isn't. Video on Youtube, test meter I always have and a new relay for £3.75 on fleabay.

There are few tighter than a Jock who lives in Yorkshire! The Jannienoreply@blogger.com
