If the circumstances were exactly reversed we probably would not be seeing the public react the same way to Tomlinson as they are to the police.<br /><br />I feel I'm rambling a bit. I haven't made up my mind on this one and my distaste of anti capitalists may be colouring my judgement. The video evidence suggests that it did. Tomlinson's behaviour may have been obstructive and that may have been a consequence of his underlying illness - we will never know. And, while the officer could not have known that, it doesn't alter the legal implication; that by pushing him, he precipitated Mr Tomlinson's death. That means that there is a case of manslaughter to answer. The officer is not being charged due to what appears to be contradictory PM reports from what I can tell. If the CPS feel that they cannot have a reasonable chance of securing a conviction because of the ambiguous evidence, then they are probably making the right decision. Galling though that may be.
