Apparently although it extended a few inches it was in danger in blocking the view for motorists turning the corner of a minor road on my estate twenty five yards away. As the junction was up a hill even the lowest slung car would look over the vegetation.

But as I pointed out to them (though failing to get them to reconsider the demand I cut the growth back) if they wanted to worry about greenery blocking the view of a road they might want to look at the corner of a nearby road where the huge hedge actually obscured the vision of vehicles turning into a major road.

Still, it's not like we have to vote councils in or anything: they're just there, like bushes and hedges.Six inches of leavesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-38007037638999543162011-11-25T14:54:48.342+00:002011-11-25T14:54:48.342+00:00Angry Exile - It's all clear to me now.

No, I meant maybe if the motorists are on the pavement the railings would obstruct their view of the road. And since motorists tend not to drive on the pavement their view shouldn't be obstructed.Angry Exilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02491082312193274360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-46673621729680997662011-11-25T13:08:08.325+00:002011-11-25T13:08:08.325+00:00Don't you mean, Maybe if they're on the ro...Don't you mean, Maybe if they're on the road, but surely not if they're on the pavement?Buckohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03169970711606515445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-232613925790974435.post-57189665513464526832011-11-25T13:00:18.963+00:002011-11-25T13:00:18.963+00:00Calls to install railings outside the pub were rej...Calls to install railings outside the pub were rejected by Blackburn with Darwen Council over fears that they could obstruct motorists’ views of the road.

Maybe if they're on the pavement, but surely not if they're on the road.Angry Exilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02491082312193274360noreply@blogger.com
